Accurate metrics on faculty in the academy are critical to note deficits, create positive change and evaluate strategies throughout the recruitment, hiring and tenure processes. The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity collaborates with a variety of Harvard offices to support the collection of data on faculty representation by School, division and department. In addition, the Office conducts periodic surveys of faculty and analyzes these data to better understand issues of campus climate and faculty satisfaction with programs and policies.
