The Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning
The Bok Center's mission is to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Harvard College courses. On its website the Center has information for faculty, teaching fellows, students and visitors. The Bok Center hosts teaching conferences, lectures, and junior faculty lunches on the theory and practice of teaching. It also provides individual consultation for teaching fellows on lecturing, grading, and general classroom practice.
The Bok Center has issued several papers on teaching practice that may be found in its archives. A sample of these papers includes teaching tips or information on teaching in racially diverse college classrooms, as well as managing classroom discussion of hot topics or those that generate mixed emotional and intellectual debate.
