MIT9.

Harvard University is one of the nine universities originally convened by MIT on issues of gender equity in higher education (now known as the "MIT9"). This group includes the California Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Stanford University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. The presidents from each of these Universities came together in 2001 to state publicly that "institutions of higher education have an obligation, both for themselves and for the nation, to develop and utilize fully all the creative talent available." Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

MIT has several "Reports of the Committees on the Status of Women" from the different schools within, as well as its most recent (2006) report by Nancy Hopkins on Diversification of University Faculty.

Princeton University.

Princeton has a 2005 report on the Status of Women Faculty in the Humanities and Social Sciences which parallels their earlier 2003 report to the President on Women Faculty in the Natural Sciences and Engineering.

Columbia University.
Cornell University.

Provost Martin briefed the faculty senate on gender equity and the faculty salary program in 2001, reporting no significant differences in pay by gender in any colleges.

Duke University.

Former Duke University President Nannerl O. Keohane launched the Women's Initiative in May 2002 to more fully understand the experiences and needs of women at Duke and to develop strategies to address the challenges women face.

Johns Hopkins University.

The Vision 2020 Report of the University Committee on the Status of Women describes the University's efforts to remove gender-based career obstacles for women faculty, staff and students by addressing three themes: leadership, work/life balance and cultural dimensions. Stanford University.

Stanford's website hosts "University Women", a project of the Provost's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women Faculty. This website has a number of data-rich reports from its own process as well as those at peer institutions.
