On-Campus Athletic Facilities.
Harvard’s athletics facilities and resources are available to staff, faculty, students, alumni, and eligible family members. Annual or semester memberships, personal trainers, fitness classes, and various settings offer more options than most private gyms.
Within the Harvard Athletics site, you can find gym rates and registration info, and exercise classes such as yoga, spinning, dance and more.
- Malkin Athletic Center – The University’s primary recreation center, with two cardio rooms, two pools, class spaces, cycling studio, three weight rooms, basketball courts and locker/shower/restroom facilities.
- Blodgett Pool – One of the best collegiate swimming facilities in the nation, a 750,000 gallon pool with multiple courses.
- Hemenway Gym – Renovated in 2005, with flat-screens on cardio machines, basketball and squash courts, indoor cycling, strength training equipment, private showers, lockers and towel service.
- QRAC – Includes floor space for basketball, volleyball, badminton and soccer; cardio and strength machines; and spacious day-locker/shower/restroom facilities.
- Vanderbilt Hall Athletic Facility – For those in the Longwood Medical Area, a full selection of cardio and strength equipment, training for sport or personal fitness goals and group programs.
- Murr Center – A state-of-the-art complex with six indoor tennis courts, 14 squash courts and a strength and conditioning center.
- Beren Tennis Courts – Among the best tennis facilities in the Northeast, it features 18 outdoor tennis courts.
Fitcorp Wellness Benefit (LMA).
Harvard Medical School and School of Dental Medicine staff and family members get discounted memberships and services with Fitcorp (617-732-7111). You'll find programs designed to meet individual needs, including weight loss, stress management, cardiovascular endurance and overall health. Fitcorp's LMA locations is 350 Longwood Ave. Staff members may use any Fitcorp facility, as well as Vanderbilt Hall.
The Center for Wellness.
Find mind and body health with Harvard's Center for Wellness programs. The center draws on Harvard's wealth of knowledge to offer sessions on fitness, stress management, nutrition and more. They also offer individual massage, acupuncture, reiki and shiatsu appointments.
